Dear Yuletide writer (2023)
First of all, thank you for writing a yuletide fic for me! This is my first yuletide, so I am very excited and I hope that my requests and additional info below are useful to you.
General likes: gen, worldbuilding, au’s (canon divergence or other au’s, as long as they are not “mundane” au’s), time travel, women being awesome in various different ways, ace/aro/bi/poly/non-binary characters, magic, science, women as the main characters, heists and cons, mystery, political intrigue, mythology and pantheons, platonic relationships (familial, friendship, etc.) being as important as romantic relationships, people with various different skills working together as a team, subversion of gender roles, inverted gender dynamics, character development
DNW: fluffy romance/smut focused story (including it in the background is fine), mundane au’s that take away all the magic (a modern au that still has the canon-typical magic is fine), women having no agency and/or being submissive/subjugated (I understand that there is period/world typical sexism which is fine to include, I would just prefer to read stories that focus on the agency that women do have/take despite the sexism they might face), an extremely positive/uncritical view of Christianity, readerfic, rape, torture, gore, sick!fic, hardcore kink
Then on to the specific fandoms:
The Library Trilogy - Mark Lawrence
The Queen's Thief - Megan Whalen Turner
Dracula - Bram Stoker (Novel 1897)
